Changing things up a bit in 2018 with a monthly conversation check-in with your host and yours truly, me!

Each week, I put out my Weekly Wisdom Blog which includes my wisdom, conversations, week in review, workout playlist of the week and what I love right now. At the end of each month, I want to get more up close and personal with you all on the other side of the airwaves. I will be recapping my crazy, delicious and random as hell adventures as well as having a conversation with you all on this side of the mic.

Conversation 58:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Sarah Dahms, RD-to-Be

“When I first started in dietetics, I had no idea what I wanted to be but I knew there were a bunch of different options I could choose from. I always kind of desired to be an entrepreneur, to have my own practice. However, now that I’m learning more and more I really like education and promoting nutrition education through social media platforms. I am excited and leaving the doors open, listening to everyone's stories.” - Sarah Dahms, RD-to-Be

Today I am reconnecting with my student side and having a conversation today with RD-to-Be, Sarah Dahms.

You all know by now how much I love dietetic students and interns that I want to stay in touch with that time in my life and be a mentor going through all the crazy that comes along with the beginnings of our profession. Sarah and I met through Instagram and I admire her for all she does as a busy RD-to-Be. She is VERY active in the student component of the Texas Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which is something that wasn’t even on my radar as a student. She supports and connects students all over the state and helps other RD’s-to-Be obtain opportunities to help them with their future.

Please enjoy my conversation about where it all begins as an RD-to-Be with Sarah.

Conversation 57:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Sara Gotch, Owner of Gnarly Pepper

“Talk to some mentors and different people in the field that you are going into (with your product).  As far as jumping in, a lot of entrepreneurs don’t tell you how much time is invested when you become your own boss and I think it is because if you don’t try, you’re always going to wonder what if. No one wants to be a dream crusher. It’s such a fun experience to always try. I’d say if it’s in your gut, you gotta go. ” - Sara Gotch, Owner of Gnarly Pepper

My conversation today is with boss babe and product entrepreneur, Sara Gotch.

It is a blast to be connected to new people through friends you have met along the way and this is exactly how Sara and I met. Sara is a fellow Iowan who loved to eat dips as a kid, realized the serving size of dips, took a leap of faith, quit her job  and created dip mixes she loved to eat and was proud to share with the rest of the world. Sara and I talk about what it is like to create  a product and all there is involved to get the product to the people. If you are someone thinking about making your own product, this podcast is for you!

Please enjoy my conversation with Sara.

Conversation 56:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Gisela Bouvier, MBA, RDN, LDN

“When you’re standing in front of a mirror and being able to say something positive about yourself, when you are able to be good to yourself and love yourself, there is a huge correlation between this and the relationship you have with food. When you are able to sit and enjoy a meal, that’s self love. That’s saying I love this, my body is enjoying it and I deserve this and I am worthy of it.” - Gisela Bouvier, MBA, RDN, LDN

My conversation today is with Gisela Bouvier, a registered dietitian with the most sincere passion in helping others practice body kindness and mindful eating.

I feel Instagram is the social media matchmaker for like-minded people by connecting us with each other. Enter Gisela Bouvier. Connecting with Gisela through Instagram lead to a quick but intimate meeting at FNCE and this amazing conversation. This was a gift to me. As she told me before, she is an open book and shares her own personal journey through an eating disorder, being in jobs that didn’t bring her joy and leading her to the passionate and purposeful life she leads today. Each time I have listened to our conversation, I get happy tears in my eyes.

Do one positive thing for you today and please listen to my great conversation with Gisela.
