Conversation 124:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Jonathan Valdez, MBA, RDN, CSG, CDN, CCM, CDE, ACE-CPT

“It’s a different aspect when you don’t have a trampoline to save you if you fall. And I’ve been living like that since I left home. I need to make sure every step I take is careful. I have to be more conservation on what I do because if I fail and I don’t have money, what am I going to do about that?” Jonathan Valdez, MBA, RDN, CSG, CDN, CCM, CDE, ACE-CPT

Today’s conversation is with Jonathan Valdez, a registered dietitian from New York City who works hard, plays hard and  goes full force into his career and life on his own terms.

If you want a little nudge to go after what you want in your life, this conversation is for you. Jonathan is embraces everything when it comes to saying #hellyeah in life. Becoming a dietitian was a long and winding road for him and he shares how he stayed the course and is now living a life he loves...for now. He is not afraid to ask for what he wants and is passionate about balancing his professional life and personal life to be the best version of yourself.

Please enjoy my conversation with Jonathan.

Conversation 123: April #EmbracetheHellYeah Conversation

What makes you say “hellyeah” at the end of the day?  For any question I am asked or I ask myself, if I cannot 100% say hell yeah as my answer then it is a hell no. I want you to embrace saying yes with your whole heart and soul by enjoying every part of your authentic life. At the end of each month, I want to get more up close and personal with you all on the other side of the airwaves and share with you more about how my podcast guests are I are doing our best to #embracethehellyeah.  This month’s topic is inspired by a post made by my previous podcast guest, Mitch Zandes about NOT being an entrepreneur.

Conversation 122:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Erin Kenney, Erin Kenney, MS, RD, LDN

“We should be asking questions in all areas of nutrition. We should be asking why, we should be asking what’s in everything. We should always be educating ourselves because that’s the most important thing.” Erin Kenney, MS, RD, LDN

Today’s conversation is with Erin Kenney, a registered dietitian living in Boston with a passion for mental health, sports nutrition and cooking healthy and delicious food.

Erin Kenney is passionate about helping individuals achieve their healthiest self through food, nutrition, and she really sleeps, eats and breaths this message. In our conversation today, we talk about how confusing nutrition messaging can be for everyone, including dietitians. What is also very special about Erin is she truly believes in food as medicine, focusing on holistic remedies in her practice and studying to be a Holistic Cannabis Practitioner. She has also branded her own line of CBD oil and shares what to look for when purchasing a CBD product. They are all not created equal and I appreciate her sharing her insight.

Please enjoy my conversation with Erin.

Conversation 121:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Briana, RDN, CPT and Founder of A Bit of Nutrition

“What I love about being a dietitian and the field of nutrition is I do feel I get to marry the two things I originally started with in psychology and teaching. With nutrition, I can educate and also help people become healthier. I can do 2 things that I love with the information I love to put out.” Briana, RDN, CPT

Today’s conversation is with Briana, a registered dietitian who is passionate about sharing nutrition information a bit at a time.

I really enjoyed my conversation today with Briana because she has the best approach to nutrition and working with her clients. I still find myself guilty of trying to share a lot of information at a one time with my clients and from now on, I will channel my inner Briana. She is very passionate about helping people along their wellness journey one step at a time and shares a lot of great wisdom throughout our conversation when it comes to life and our profession.

Please enjoy my conversation with Briana.

Conversation 120:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Haley Hughes, RD

“At the end of the day what I get the most job satisfaction out of is seeing a client make the progress or make it to their goals. Even though one-on-one is the most time consuming and stressful and almost feeling like a therapist at times. That is the definitely the most rewarding and I feel like I make a difference.” Haley Hughes, RD

Today’s conversation is with Haley Hughes, a registered dietitian who is impacting her small community in a big way by starting her own practice RDRx Nutrition and coaching Crossfit.

Haley’s dietitian career has taking her many places in the United States, including her home state of Alaska. While she was choosing schools, she landed in Colorado and realized there was a need for her dietitians services in her small community of Greeley. Haley started her business after seeing a need for nutrition education while doing diabetes education. She continues to be involved not only in nutrition education, but contracts in menu planning, her local Meals on Wheels program, writing articles, recipe development and collaborating with other professionals in her community in virtual course creation.  If you are looking to be an entrepreneur, Haley is someone who has leveled up in her business and will inspire you to do the same.

Please enjoy my conversation with Haley.
