Conversation 132:  June #EmbracetheHellYeah Conversation

What makes you say “hellyeah” at the end of the day?  For any question I am asked or I ask myself, if I cannot 100% say hell yeah as my answer then it is a hell no. I want you to embrace saying yes with your whole heart and soul by enjoying every part of your authentic life. At the end of each month, I want to get more up close and personal with you all on the other side of the airwaves and share with you more about how my podcast guests are I are doing our best to #embracethehellyeah.  This month I’m chatting about attending high school reunions and my new continuing education opportunities with my book.

Conversation 132:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Abbie Scott, RD, LD

“Sometimes I have to pinch myself, especially if it is a really hard day at work. I’m working where I want to be, in eating disorders. Even though the most stressful days are VERY stressful, I still really get a lot out of this work. And I know I am making a difference.” Abbie Scott, RD, LD

Today’s conversation is with Abbie Scott, a registered dietitian who has a passion for her family, yoga and working with eating disorders.

Abbie is one of the most passionate dietitians I have ever met. We met while working for the same company a few years ago and I was also so impressed with her desire to be a lifelong learner. She has had a few different jobs as a dietitian and embraced them all as stepping stones. She is currently working for the Emily Program in Minnesota which specializes in the treatment of eating disorders. This is the field of dietetics she has a personal connection to and is extremely passionate about.  Abbie shares some great insight into this ever-evolving field and how she balances her personal life with her career.

Please enjoy my conversation with Abbie.

Conversation 130:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Steph Langdon, RD

“I do think part of the whole reason I started my “What RD’s Do” interview series is to inspire dietitians to what is possible within the profession. I didn’t know what was possible for myself so I feel like there are a lot of people out there who want to work in a certain area but they don’t know what it takes to get there.” Steph Langdon, RD

Today’s conversation is with Steph Langdon, a registered dietitian and entrepreneur who has created the inspiring and very valuable “What RD’s Do” interview series.

A few months after starting this podcast, I connected with a lot of registered dietitians and a colleague suggested I follow Steph because of the similar passion we share of inspiring other dietitians. When I started digging into her “What RD’s Do” series, I really starting re-connecting to why I wanted to be a RD in the first place. Steph has over 190 interviews in her series and highlights all the amazing journeys of fellow dietitians. What is even more great about Steph is she is a Mom first, Dietitian second and has a sincere passion for advocating for our profession.

Please enjoy my conversation with Steph.

Conversation 129:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Kim Rose, RDN, CDE

“It’s a way fo me to express my creativity because I have that scientific side but I also like art, colors and designing. I like creating. I think to have that balance, that’s where YouTube comes in for me. I can be all numbers, calculator, lab coat, pen and paper and glasses 24/7. I need to have creativity .”  Kim Rose, RDN, CDE

Today’s conversation is with Kim Rose, registered dietitian from Florida who is a clinical dietitian by day and a YouTube star  by night.

Awhile ago when I was doing research on the where registered dietitians get their information about our profession, of course I started with an internet search and Kim Rose was a key part of the results. Kim has a standout presence on YouTube by hosting her own channel filled with informative and educational videos for all things registered dietitian. Her passion for the profession and her creativity radiates in her videos as well as her online presence. She is a massive influencer for registered dietitians by providing answers to many common questions new and seasoned dietitians may have. She also shares more about her clinical role at the acute care facility she works at and how this also influences her video content.

Please enjoy my conversation with Kim.
